Harrogate: A Happy Place to Live and Visit
Harrogate may have finally lost its crown as officially the happiest place to live in the UK, but its inhabitants are still positively beaming about their good fortune in living in the famous Yorkshire spa town.
In August, Harrogate lost out to Leigh-on-Sea in Essex as the Happiest Place to Live in Britain, according to an annual Rightmove.com survey of 24,000 people. Harrogate had previously won the title for three successive years, but lost out to the seaside resort, while still finishing a respectable third.
Of course, the beauty of this is that it changes nothing, and Harrogate’s residents and its hordes of regular visitors know that it doesn’t take an official title to show how prosperous, forward-thinking and friendly the area remains. So in the eyes of those lucky enough to reside here, Harrogate is still the happiest place to live, and on the evidence of our Caravan Park visitors and how frequently we see repeat bookings, it looks like the wider general public still agree.
Judging how contented people are with their place of residence involves assessing categories such as how well you get on with your neighbours, how safe you feel, surrounding facilities and conveniences, the sense of community you feel and living costs. These all add up to how happy you feel with where you live and how much pride you have in the area. In Harrogate, it is clear that pride is off the scale within its 75,000 population. This Yorkshire institution is famous for its Georgian architecture, its elegant Turkish baths, its independent restaurants and cafes, its shopping, its culture and its thriving conference and events facilities. But most of all, Harrogate’s outward appearance in the beautiful gardens and well-appointed streets radiate a happiness manifested in its residents. And not only that, the stunning surrounding countryside ensures visitors are awestruck, visually-arrested and full of beans before they even get here.
Forever mixing that sense of cosmopolitan class with an old-fashioned charm that is unmistakably ‘Yorkshire’, Harrogate remains highly popular and one of the most-visited attractions in God’s Own County. At Harrogate Caravan Park we provide the perfect base for exploring this mixing pot of culture, heritage and style, while also taking in the best of Yorkshire in the surrounding area.
As one of the best-equipped and located caravan parks in Yorkshire, we pride ourselves on customer satisfaction, and with us sitting right in the middle of one of the happiest places in the UK, wide smiles, laughter and fun are very much the order of the day, and you can’t fail to enjoy your stay with us.
